Before the two next blog entries – The Texts and Messages and, finally, a head to head with Amy, I think something needs to be explained – why I am fighting so hard for Amy Forshee Fisher.

I didn’t know Amy when the StarPress article was published, but one of her good friends contacted me and asked if I would speak with her – that the story, as printed in the Muncie Star Press was a fabrication. I met Amy in her attorney’s office. He is a respected attorney and very concerned for not only her peace of mind, but her safety. The more I listened and the more paperwork I read, the more convinced I became that The Boys at the SP had it wrong. Reporting was kicked to the curb in that article, paving the way for a story which bordered on the soft porn edge of journalism. Nowhere in that article was Officer Fisher quoted, nor was her attorney…possibly because the reporters never bothered to speak with them. In fact, to this date, Officer Fisher has not been formally notified that she was being terminated.

Why does Amy Forshee Fisher matter ? Because she is a citizen and in this instance, her rights were never protected – and, according to some people, she was never protected, as a law enforcement officer. I truly this to be true. Because Amy Forshee Fisher was targeted by the very people she worked with and two administrations who failed her. Because this is to be swept under a rug, like so many other dirty dealings in this City and County.

Amy Forshee Fisher matters because she put on her uniform…she did her job. Amy Forshee Fisher put her life on the line every time went to work…to protect and to serve the people of this community. As a community, how can we close our eyes to this issue ?

Amy Forshee Fisher had OUR backs. It’s a damned shame no one had hers.

Tomorrow – the texts. Monday – Amy Forshee Fisher Answers The Questions.
